Wake Up Session x International Jazz Day — 30 April 2026 at Caudan Waterfront
On the evening of April 30th, 2026, Wake Up Entertainment brought a unique and vibrant edition of the Wake Up Session to Caudan Waterfront, as part of the global celebration of International Jazz Day.
This event held special meaning as it was also integrated into the 30th anniversary celebrations of Caudan Waterfront. We extend our sincere thanks to Caudan for their trust and continued collaboration in opening their space to urban culture and creative expression.
A Unique Fusion of Jazz and Street Dance
For this special edition, we designed the Wake Up Session with a strong artistic direction: bridging jazz music and urban dance.
The evening unfolded in two distinct parts:
- Part 1 — Live Jazz Experience
The session opened with a live jazz performance, setting a rich musical atmosphere where dancers could connect directly with live instrumentation. This moment created an organic dialogue between musicians and dancers, highlighting improvisation — a core value shared by both jazz and street dance. - Part 2 — DJ Set & Battle Session
The energy then shifted into a battle format powered by a live DJ set. The music selection was carefully curated around jazz-influenced sounds, blending grooves, rhythms, and textures that challenged dancers to adapt, create, and express themselves in new ways.
Celebrating Culture, Movement, and Community
This edition of the Wake Up Session showcased the versatility of urban dancers and their ability to engage with different musical landscapes. The fusion of jazz and street dance created a dynamic experience for both participants and the audience, turning the waterfront into a true cultural meeting point.
As always, the event remained free and open to the public, reinforcing our mission to make dance accessible, empower youth, and continue building a strong cultural movement across Mauritius and the Indian Ocean region.
This night was more than just an event — it was a celebration of music, movement, and community, honoring both the legacy of jazz and the evolving energy of street dance.

Le jeudi 30 avril 2026, Wake Up Entertainment a proposé une édition unique du Wake Up Session au Caudan Waterfront, à l’occasion de la célébration mondiale de l’International Jazz Day.
Cet événement avait une dimension particulière puisqu’il s’inscrivait également dans les 30 ans du Caudan Waterfront. Nous remercions sincèrement Caudan pour leur confiance et leur collaboration continue, en permettant à la culture urbaine de s’exprimer dans l’un des lieux les plus emblématiques de Maurice.
Une rencontre entre jazz et danse urbaine
Pour cette édition spéciale, nous avons imaginé une direction artistique forte : fusionner l’univers du jazz avec celui de la street dance.
La soirée s’est déroulée en deux temps :
- Partie 1 — Live Jazz Show
La session a débuté avec une performance live de musiciens jazz, créant une atmosphère riche et immersive. Les danseurs ont pu interagir directement avec la musique en live, dans un échange spontané basé sur l’improvisation — une valeur essentielle partagée par le jazz et la danse urbaine. - Partie 2 — DJ Set & Battles
La deuxième partie a laissé place à un format battle, accompagné d’un DJ set. La sélection musicale, soigneusement construite autour d’influences jazz, a proposé aux danseurs un terrain d’expression original, mêlant groove, rythme et créativité.
Une célébration de la culture et du partage
Cette édition du Wake Up Session a mis en lumière la capacité des danseurs à s’adapter et à explorer de nouveaux univers musicaux. La rencontre entre jazz et street dance a offert une expérience forte, aussi bien pour les participants que pour le public présent.
Comme pour chaque Wake Up Session, l’événement est resté gratuit et accessible à tous, fidèle à notre mission de rendre la danse accessible, de valoriser la jeunesse et de développer la culture urbaine à Maurice et dans la région de l’océan Indien.
Plus qu’un simple événement, cette soirée a été une véritable célébration du mouvement, de la musique et de la communauté, dans l’esprit du jazz et de la street culture.
