Street Dance Festival 2025 – By Ministry Youth & Sports

Street Dance Festival 2025:

The energy was high, the beats were pumping, and the spirit of youth was alive at the Street Dance Festival 2025, an electrifying event produced by Wake Up Entertainment for the Ministry of Youth and Sports. This annual festival brought together the best of Mauritius’s street dance scene, shining a spotlight on raw talent, creativity, and the vibrant culture of our island.

This year’s festival featured thrilling 1 vs 1 Allstyle dance battles, open to all dance genres and levels. To ensure every voice had its moment, battles were held separately for boys and girls in both junior and senior categories.

The Journey

The festival kicked off with two intense qualification rounds:

  • Saturday 31 May – Pamplemousses Youth Centre
  • Sunday 1 June – Plaza, Rose-Hill

The stage was set for an epic showdown at the Grand Finale on Sunday 8 June at Caudan Waterfront, Port Louis, where the best dancers from across the country battled it out in front of a live audience.

Celebrating Our Champions

After three electrifying events, these dancers claimed the top spot in their categories:

  • Male Senior: Williams Charlot
  • Male Junior: Jeremy Polimon
  • Female Senior: Bgirl Happy
  • Female Junior: Jahmelie

Each champion brought their unique style, energy, and passion to the stage—proving once again that Mauritius is home to world-class street dance talent!

More Than a Competition

The Street Dance Festival is more than just a battle; it’s a celebration of urban culture, self-expression, and youth empowerment. It’s a place where dancers can express their identity, connect with their community, and inspire the next generation.

Thank you to everyone who danced, cheered, and supported this movement. Together, we are making Mauritius dance!
