Youth Dance Festival 2025: 4 Days, 25 Dancers, 1 Massive Vibe

From 24–27 April, Port Louis pulsed to a whole new rhythm as 25 blazing-hot dancers from Seychelles and Réunion Island stormed Mauritius for the very first Youth Dance Festival. Four days, four venues, one mission: level up the next generation of island talent.

Day 1 – Helvetia Youth Hub, St Pierre
We kicked things off with a marathon coaching session. Four master instructors dropped knowledge in K-Pop, Afro, Hip-Hop and Breaking—eight straight hours of grooves, footwork and pure sweat equity.

Day 2 – Institut Français de Maurice
Friday night, the squad flipped theory into a full-blown stage show. From traditional sega moutia shows to raw breaking power moves, the IFM crowd left buzzing for more.

Day 3 – Port Louis Waterfront Battle
Saturday was the main event and the concrete shook. Seychelles owned the Afro Dance floor, while Réunion flexed hard in Breaking. When the smoke cleared, Jahlil repped Réunion with a W in Breaking, and Team Seychelles swept the Afro crown.

Day 4 – Bagatelle Mall Takeover
Sunday, we took the energy to Bagatelle for an open-air finale. Shoppers turned spectators, dancers turned ambassadors—proof that urban culture belongs everywhere.

Why It Matters

Hip-hop teaches hustle, unity and creative fire, and that’s exactly what went down this week. New friendships forged, skills upgraded, borders blurred—this is the future of island dance culture.

Big shout-out to every coach, our loyal partner Malta Guinness and dancers who made the festival a history-making vibe. Stay locked: Wake Up Entertainment is just getting warmed up.

Keep dancing, keep dreaming—see you at the next battle.
