The Story Behind Wake Up Session

The journey of Wake Up Session began with a single word: “Wake Up!” In 2009, Kenjee emerged as a rap champion, earning an opportunity to attend the prestigious Urban Konection Festival in Reunion Island. It was there that he was introduced to the electrifying world of international dance battles.

Kenjee’s passion for dance battles ignited, and after his return for the festival’s second edition in 2010, he brought the spark back to Mauritius. In that pivotal moment, Wake Up Session was born—an event dedicated to rekindling the dance battle culture in Mauritius and offering a platform for local talent to shine.

Later that same year, Wake Up Entertainment was officially registered, marking the beginning of a remarkable journey. Over the years, we’ve organized more than 100 events for esteemed clients such as Orange Telecom, Malta Guinness, and the Ministry of Youth. Alongside these endeavors, our very own Wake Up Sessions have thrived, bringing together a community of passionate individuals who, like Kenjee, share an unbridled love for Hip-Hop culture and dance.
